Navan Senior Women’s XV delivered a spirited second-half comeback to secure a 12-12 draw against Blackrock College J1s in a friendly match on Saturday. A blend of players from Navan’s 1st and 2nd teams showed resilience and determination to overturn a halftime deficit.

Blackrock dominated the first half, scoring early and adding a second try, converted by their fly-half, just before the break to lead 12-0. However, Navan rallied in the second half, producing a composed and dynamic performance to level the game with tries from Molly Fitzgerald and Emily Jo White, the latter converted by Anna McGarry.

In the First Half, Blackrock opened the scoring early with an unconverted try, exploiting a lapse in Navan’s defense.

Navan responded with improved defensive organization, containing Blackrock’s attacks for much of the half.

Just before halftime, Blackrock’s fly-half broke through Navan’s lines, scoring a superb individual try and adding the conversion for a 12-0 lead.

In the second half Second Half,Navan regrouped and showcased their potential with a commanding second-half display.

Molly Fitzgerald crossed the line after sustained pressure and excellent phase play by Navan’s forwards.

Shortly afterward, Emily Jo White capitalized on a quick offload to score Navan’s second try.

Anna McGarry coolly slotted the conversion to secure a well-earned draw.

Both Navan Senior Women's teams are back in League action next Sunday 26th January with the 1st team away to UCD, and the 2nd/J1 side away to Newbridge, with both games kicking off at 1pm.
