Navan U20s fought valiantly but ultimately fell short against a strong Wanderers side in Dublin. Despite a hat-trick of tries from No.8 Matthew Conlon, along with a stellar performance from out-half Philip Smyth, who contributed three conversions and a penalty, Navan could not overcome their hosts.
Conlon's dominant display and Smyth's precision kicking kept Navan in contention, but Wanderers’ clinical finishing proved the difference as they secured the 13-point victory
Philip Smyth earned the Player of the Match award, sponsored by The Central, for his outstanding contribution, including three tries that showcased his skill from the boot.
Navan U20s will look to bounce back as they welcome Galway Corinthians to Balreask Old on Sunday, 2nd February, with a 3pm kick-off.
