Rosie Searle Selected for Ireland U20 Women’s Squad
Navan RFC’s Rosie Searle has earned national honours, lining out for the Ireland Women’s U20s team (sponsored by PwC) in the first of two uncapped training matches against Canada U20 on Saturday, 10th May at the IRFU High Performance Centre in Abbotstown.
These matches are part of Ireland’s preparation for the Six Nations U20 Women’s Summer Series, taking place in Cardiff this July.

Rosie was part of a 30-player squad named by Head Coach Niamh Briggs, who noted:
“These games are a perfect opportunity for players to build experience and showcase their skills.”
Also featured were former Navan RFC Youths players: Jade Gaffney and Emma Brogan, highlighting the club’s growing footprint in Irish representative rugby.
Emma O'Rourke Stars for Leinster U16 7s
Navan RFC’s Emma O’Rourke was in superb form at the Girls U16 Interprovincial 7s Series on 10th May, helping Leinster go undefeated and scoring in each match.
This series serves as a selection platform for the Ireland U18 Girls 7s squad, ahead of Rugby Europe U18 Girls 7s competition this July.

An impressive nine players from Navan RFC’s U16 Girls squad have been named in the Leinster North-East Summer Programme:
Grace McWeeney, Emma O’Rourke, Amelia Lynch, Amelia Gillespie, Ellen Vuckovic, Tessa Flynn, Tati Garcia, Caoimhe Martin & Robyn Wall.
They will train towards the 2025 Sarah Robinson Cup, reflecting Navan’s strong youth development pipeline.

Seven U15 Boys players from Navan RFC have also been selected for the North-East extended squad:

Michelle Claffey Joins Leinster Women’s Coaching Team
Congratulations to Navan RFC Women’s coach Michelle Claffey, who has been appointed Backs Coach for the Leinster Senior Women’s team ahead of the Vodafone Women’s Interprovincial Championship this August.
A former Ireland, Leinster and Blackrock player, Michelle also brings coaching experience from the Wolfhounds (Celtic Challenge) and continues to coach Navan RFC’s three women’s squads.

Myles Doyle & Lorcan Craik Selected for Leinster U18
Congratulations to Myles Doyle and Lorcan Craik (U17 Boys) on their selection to the Leinster U18 Clubs squad for their 2024 Summer Programme and Interprovincial Series.

Four Navan-based players were honoured at the DKIT Future Stars of Rugby Awards:
Luke Kennedy – Flanker (St Patrick’s CS, Navan / Navan RFC)- Harry Waters – Full-back (Ratoath College / Navan RFC Senior Men’s)

- Molly Egan – Full-back (St Joseph’s Mercy / Navan RFC Women’s 1st)
Winners received a Future Star jersey to wear with pride in their community. This initiative continues to be a springboard for provincial and national selections.
Edwina Connor Elected Leinster Youths Chair for 2025/26
Navan RFC extends its congratulations to Edwina Connor, Women's Team Manager, on her election as Chair of the Leinster Youth Committee for the 2025/26 season.
