Navan RFC’s Rosie Searle has today been named by Leinster Rugby Women’s Head Coach Ben Martin in the final 30-player squad for the upcoming Vodafone Women’s Interprovincial Championship.

Searle’s inclusion comes after an impressive showing during the extended training panel phase and positive displays for the Irish Women's Under 20’s at the Six Nations U20 Women's Summer Series held in Wales last month.

Martin originally named a 65-player training squad last month to assess talent from across the province, particularly with many senior players unavailable due to Ireland Women’s Rugby World Cup commitments.

Searle is joined in the Leinster squad by four other players with Navan RFC roots:

Additionally, current Navan RFC player Alex Connor will remain involved in the squad as part of a National Talent Squad development opportunity.

Speaking on the squad selection, Head Coach Ben Martin said:

“There were a number of variables at play this summer like the (Ireland) Under-20s, Sevens, and of course the Women’s Rugby World Cup, so there has been a lot of coming and going over the last few weeks... We’re excited by the squad announced today and grateful to all the players who’ve been part of the wider group. It’s clear to see the depth of talent emerging from our schools, clubs, and pathway programmes.”

Martin’s backroom team also includes Navan RFC player/assistant coach Michelle Claffey who has responsibility for the backs.
The four-round Vodafone Women’s Interprovincial Championships kicks-off on Sunday, 10th August when Leinster host Ulster at Energia Park, Donnybrook (kick-off 2.30pm).
