Navan RFC U18 Girls player Aoife White has taken a major step forward in her rugby journey by completing the Leinster Rugby Referee Course last weekend. At just 18 years of age, she is now in the final stages of becoming an official Leinster Branch referee.
Aoife began playing rugby with Navan at U14 level and is now continuing her development in the game by pursuing refereeing. The course was delivered by Leinster Rugby Referee Development Manager and fellow Navan RFC member Sean Gallagher, who also provided mentorship and guidance during the programme.

On Thursday evening, Aoife White took charge of her first game as a referee following her completion of the Leinster referee course last weekend.
Aoife refereed an internal game of the Women's squad. She took control of the game and managed the flow of the game excellently.
Given Aoife's years of experience playing at underage in Navan her positioning and dialogue with players ensured a quick game.
This was Aoife's first game to referee, first senior game, and she showed every skill and trait of a referee with years of experience. She is wise beyond her years on the laws of the game and if there is a name for the future, White's is the next one to watch.
