Navan RFC continued its festive tradition on St. Stephen’s Day with a social rugby match "Clash of the Centuries" at Balreask Old pitting the club’s Men’s "Youngsters” U18s & U20s against a Senior Men's 3rd “Veterans” XV, featuring players born in the 20th century.
In a highly entertaining, slightly competitive game which was played over two halves of 25 minutes ("Power Hour" with breaks), No scrums or lineouts so similar to Tag rugby flair with a touch of physicality, which provided a great spectacle for all the assembled crowd in festive mood at the Balreask Old clubhouse.
The event was celebrating the social side of rugby and connecting with the club community during the holiday season.
It was great to see some returning veterans put back on the Navan jersey on the field, and also have some members of the Navan RFC community in the Balreask Old clubhouse who were home for the festive period.
