Kilkenny 14 Navan 43
Kilkenny RFC.

Navan Girls’ U18s produced an excellent performance on the road, securing a 43–14 victory over Kilkenny in their second league outing of the season.

The visitors burst out of the blocks, with Ellen Vuckovic crossing for two tries inside the opening ten minutes. Anna-Mae Tracey added a third on the right wing before Tati Garcia touched down on the opposite flank. With Emma O’Rourke adding the conversions, Navan took a commanding 26–0 lead into half-time.

Kilkenny responded strongly after the restart, scoring two well-worked tries to narrow the gap to 26–14 and apply pressure to the Navan defence. However, the introduction of fresh legs helped the Meath side regain control, and they finished the game in style. Late tries from Amy Kennedy, Alexa Wall and Aisling Caffrey sealed an impressive seven-try victory.

A superb team performance and a well-deserved win away from home.

Boy’s Under 13 XV
Leinster Youth Boys U13 Grading Group A (Sunday 23rd November)
Navan 40 Gorey 15
Balreask Old, Navan.
Referee: Aoife White

Navan’s U13 Boys continued their impressive start to the season with a commanding 40–15 win over Gorey RFC at Balreask Old on Sunday. The victory keeps Navan top of Leinster Youth Group A with three wins from three, following earlier successes over Naas and Wexford. Referee Aoife White delivered an excellent performance, ensuring a well-managed and free-flowing contest.

Navan started with purpose, displaying strong structure and sharp support play. They crossed for three well-taken tries through Casey Reynolds, Shay Smyth and Seamus Tobin. Gorey responded with two unconverted scores, but Navan’s accuracy from the tee ensured a 21–10 lead at the interval.

A lively bench impact early in the second half lifted Navan’s tempo, particularly at the breakdown. Further tries from Reynolds and Smyth stretched the margin before a brilliant length-of-the-field effort in the final minute sealed the win. The move began deep under Navan’s posts with superb turnover work from John Burns and Freddie Kearns, allowing Reynolds to finish his hat-trick in style.

Freddie Davis added five conversions from six attempts, completing the 40-15 scoreline.

Player of the Match went to Henry McGivern, whose relentless counter-rucking after the break repeatedly disrupted Gorey possession and directly contributed to two tries.

Post-match, Gorey coaches praised the quality of Navan’s play and expressed appreciation for the club’s hospitality. Coaches highlighted many positives from the performance while noting areas for refinement ahead of next weekend’s away trip to Dungannon RFC, and then onwards by bus to Clogher Valley RFC to support our Men's senior team in the Energia All-Ireland League.
